Dreams are meant to be lived out!
We always had sleds around when I was growing up and I got into snowmobiling at a very young age. My dad and his buddies used to head out for a night of touring around the countryside where we lived, often returning in the middle of the night. That was the 1970s — a different time and a lot of great memories.
All of my brothers were into snowmobiling too, and my late brother Mike was heavily involved in racing. He competed in both snowcross and drag racing, and watching him — fueled my own passion for the sport.
I started out trail riding, but eventually moved into racing snowcross myself. I worked my way through the amateur ranks, won a CSRA Amateur Championship, and eventually raced at the semi-pro level. Racing taught me a lot — discipline, confidence, and how to push myself beyond what I thought I could do.
Later, when I started my own family, snowmobiling naturally became part of our lives too. I bought 120s for both of my boys, and with acreage at home and a backyard motocross track, we spent countless hours riding together as a family. Those are some of the memories I treasure most.
My oldest son, Sebastian, raced in a few snowcross events, but he mostly loved riding at home, hitting jumps, and just having fun on the sleds. It was never really about competition — it was about freedom, adventure, and being together outdoors.
My family and I love winter and everything snowmobiling represents. Today, my boys Seb and Reed, now young adult themselves at 18 and 21, still love anything with an engine that goes fast. We often talk about our dream of someday living in the mountains and spending more time powder sledding.
Dreams are meant to be lived out! One day!
