The International Snowmobile Hall of Fame (ISHOF) annually recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the sport of snowmobiling in a variety of ways.
  1. Individuals who have made advancements in the form of invention, innovation, and/or development of machines and equipment.
  2. Explorers and adventurers who have used snowmobiles in an extraordinary way.
  3. Trail and program developers who have initiated programs or ways to further advance the sport of snowmobiling.
  4. Volunteers and club organizers who have led efforts to improve the sport, deserve special recognition.
  5. Publishers and journalists who have brought to attention the uses of snowmobiling to the general public.

The International Snowmobile Hall of Fame is involved with promoting and advancing education and safety in the sport of snowmobiling. Establishment of a museum exhibiting the evolution of snowmobiles and their uses is part of a long-range plan by ISHOF. Our current efforts center on the induction and recognition of worthy individuals into the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame and snowmobile events held in conjunction with the induction ceremony. During the ISHOF weekend (the end of February), a groomer demonstration and reception for the new inductees are held Friday. Saturday guided rides and tours are offered, also with the groomer equipment demonstration and other related snowmobile events. Saturday evening the induction ceremony and banquet are held honoring the new inductees. Sunday morning the past members of ISHOF and new inductees meet with the Board of Directors. All events and expenses for ISHOF are funded through donations.

The International Snowmobile Hall of Fame accepts nominations through July 15th. The nominations are then reviewed by a selection committee consisting of five snowmobile related enthusiast. The selection committee sends their ratings and comments to the Board of Directors for review by October 1st. Sponsors of these nomination are notified by October 1st of the status of their candidate. The announcement of the candidates may be released to the public after November 1st (this allows time for sponsors to notify their nominees). Induction for these candidates take place the last Saturday in February. Below is a guide of what must be included in a nomination.
