International Groomer Operator of the Year 2002 Groomer Curly Crosson Arctic Cat started the "Groomer Operator of the Year" program six years ago to honor some very hard working and dedicated snowmobile groomers and to recognize these individuals at the Snowmobile Congress each June. Nominations are received from all of the U.S. Snow States as well as the Canadian Provinces. From these, one winner is picked from the three chapters, which North America is divided into, Eastern, Mid-West and Western. Curly Crosson, from Brackendaje, British Columbia first received national recognition as being chosen the Groomer Operator of the Year for the Western Chapter of the American Council of Snowmobile Associations and now named International Snowmobile Groomer Operator for the year 2002. Mr. Crosson being 81 years old is the BLACK TUSK SNOWMOBILE Clubs oldest member, since it was formed over 30 years ago, now given a lifetime membership for his profound contributions to the BTSC. Curly Crosson is the third groomer operator to receive this international award. The selection committee was made up of two snowmobile program administrators, two groomer operators and a representative of a manufacturer. The other nominees for this prestigious award were, representing the Eastern Chapter of ACSA Vernon Robichand from the state of Maine, and John Arnold, Mid-Western Chapter from the state of Minnesota. Crosson will be introduced at a reception following Fridays activities and demonstrations at the host hotel - Sawmill inn, Highway 169, South of Grand Rapids. The groomer reception is being sponsored by Arctic Cat and will be co-sponsored by the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame. |
